Michelle Lenarčič Rossitto

Michelle Lenarčič Rossitto

Michelle was born in Melbourne in 1966, of Slovenian parents. They enrolled in Victorian School of Languages to learn Slovenian and she had completed VCE in Slovenian language. After her marriage and the birth of her son Luke I 1993 she stayed at home and chose for a hobby to produce patchwork quilts.

This handicraft is very different from the traditional craft. One must have a sense for colours, patterns and forms and then to be able to compose a harmonious, attractive whole. The skill is in the making of tiny stitches, in design, cutting of pieces of material and collecting and composing patches of patterns and colours. Patchwork quilt is a popular bed covering, which may take a full year to complete. Michelle has completed two great patchwork quilts.
